Основной уровень инфляции
Показатель уровня инфляции, который рассчитывается на основе изменений индекса розничных цен (см. Price index) без учета изменений цен на продовольственные товары( цены некоторых из них подвержены сезонным колебаниям), топливо (цены на топливо в значительной степени зависят от колебаний экономической и политической конъюнктуры на международных рынках, а также от действий ОПЕК) и некоторые другие товары. Данный показатель уровня инфляции используется в прогнозировании, основанном на адаптивных ожиданиях (см. Adaptive expectations). На него, однако, нельзя опираться при индексации пенсий и других социальных пособий, поскольку потребителям все равно приходится платить за продовольственные товары и топливо.
